Underwater Ulu Garden
2002
Black wool stroud, smoke tanned caribou hide, various materials
32 x 24 inches
Someone once asked me how ulus were made. I jokingly replied they were created and found in the dark, cold depths of the Arctic Ocean. Found only where the Earth's mantle fissures and warmth and gases are released into the cold waters. Percolations of gases and colourful blooms of vibrant life where none are expected.
